This 'bone marrow' is more of an interpretation. I don't know exactly what the inner structure of a bone is but the idea stands.
The image is a section which could be plan or side view, the result is a structure which forms many spaces to accommodate varied functions.
This could achieve; density, resource sharing, and communal efforts to create greater structures by lesser means.
